JSA on the Green Home Tour

One of our current projects is on this year's Green Home Tour! Reaching the final stages of construction, it will be open to the public this weekend. It's located just south of Chapel Hill at 746 Valley Lane, Pittsboro. 

The residence is a modern farmhouse situated on a 6 acre lot of old growth forest. The passive solar design is in response to the clients’ desire to live sustainably and efficiently. The house is oriented along the East - West axis, with the majority of its glazing on the southern facade. This maximizes the heating and natural light provided by the sun. The windows, overhangs and shading devices are sized to optimize heat gain in the winter and shading in the summer.
